We champion the Art School tradition for invention, opportunity and creativity, welcoming people from all walks of life, to learn to think through their hands.
We encourage artistic endevour and promote excellence through academic provision and studio culture. Our community of artists create and innovate in authentic studio facilities across 3 floors including drawing studios, painting studios, print rooms, ceramics studios, textiles studios, photography rooms, workshops, artist studios, and more. The 1830 Gallery is a window onto all we do, and a space to enrich our visual culture; all set in the glorious and historic GII* Industrial Textiles Mill at Shaw Lodge, Halifax.
We offer a wide range of high quality courses and programmes in Art, Design & Crafts that are accessible to all.
