Four years ago Chris Wells, Lindsey Clark, Matthew Higgins and shared a studio in 2nd year painting at Gray's School of Art. All enthusiastic, though new to the world of serious painting, they learnedthe same methods of research and development and completed the same projects producing finalised paintings in a similar vein. Now, although they share the same artistic ideals and values, they pursue the process of painting in very different ways.

Our lovely museum is an outstanding centre for Pictish and Celtic Art in Ross-shire. The unique display is focused on 15 carved Pictish stones which all originated in the village, an important centreof early Christianity. The sculptures are amongst the works of Pictish Art that inspired George Bain, the 'father of modern Celtic design', most of whose surviving artwork is in the care of the museum.
