The Fine Art Gallery is owned and managed by Rochester based artist, Brian Thompson, who has been designing and painting for many years. After spending some years in the Merchant Naval Service andstudying at the Medway College of Art, he opened his own advertising and printing business, which has now been established for 30 years. We seek out and celebrate the homegrown creativity of the newly fledged, as well as more firmly established practitioners. Handmade prints, drawings and papercuts exist alongside ceramics, jewellery, stationery and books. From time to time a one-person or group show colonises the walls. Frank, then, exists in a hybrid space-somewhere between a gallery and a shop-yet still inhabits a real space: near a harbour, by the sea, in Whitstable on the north Kent coast. We'd be pleased to meet you.

I am Richard Rowland, a mosaic artist based in Chatham, Kent. I design and make modern mosaic artworks for private homes and gardens, commercial premises and public sites. A good mosaic is a beautifulwork of art but mosaic has other special qualities to offer. A wide range of materials can be used in mosaic making, giving great variety of surface, texture and colour in both two and three dimensional work. Mosaics can be extremely tough and durable.

I take my inspiration from Nature, drawing and making prints of the birds, plants and animals I see around me everyday and sometimes those that are a little harder to find. Sketching from life is thestarting point of everything I do, it feeds both my drawing and printmaking. I am especially interested in birds, how our relationships with them shift over time, what we have lost and gained. Guest Artist at Gingerbread Gallery, Hadlow. Solo exhibition, Below 65 Gallery, Maidstone.
