We're Tom and Rosamund Jordan, leading specialists in the Staithes Group of painters for 40 years. We believe that this still neglected Group needs to be written into the history of British and Worldart and Rosamund is nearing the completion of her book which will define and re-assess the artists and their work. These Yorkshire Impressionist painters worked in and around the fishing village of Staithes from around 1883 when the Railway first came to the village.

I am an artist living and working in the market town of Barnard Castle, in the beautiful Pennine dale of Teesdale. I exhibit widely in the local area, and also in my own studio, where work ispermanently on display. Details of my open studios can be found on the exhibitions page, or contact me to visit my studio at another time. I hope you will enjoy looking at my pictures.

I work with watercolours and oils mainly, I've never been tempted to use acrylics. In addition to paintings, I produce a range of original limited edition prints (refer to the website of the Fine ArtTrade Guild for a full definition of "original limited edition") from copper-plate engravings (intaglio prints). These are images from plates I have created, not copies, not printed by someone else. Original in the best sense of the word!
