About the Business

Alongside the classes, we hold some weekend workshops run by guest artists in all sorts of subjects, such as pastels, figure drawing, lino-printing and lots more. Station Art Workshop is situated in the Station Workshop Units on the site of the old railway station in Robin Hood's Bay. Lynne started running regular weekly painting classes for the local community in 2011 and these have grown into a strong group of members, who are now committed to producing their own creative work.

I started the classes with an aim to encourage beginners to have a go at painting. I could not have imagined the standard of creativity and committment of the local community. I firmly believe that anyone can paint given the opportunity, time and encouragement. I have proved this many times over. Station Art Workshop holds an annual summer exhibition and sale of members work the first two weeks of September.
