Jonathan was born in Leeds and after several years spent working in a variety of jobs and running his own gallery he decided to to devote himself to full time painting. Jonathan was a finalist in theUp and Coming artist 2003 and 2004 and Best selling Artist 2004 and 2005 which was organised by the Fine Art Trade Guild.
Gavagan Art is owned by Mary Gavagan, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in presenting exhibitions, and advising on the purchase and collection of modern and contemporary art, having done sofor over 25 years. Mary was Director of the University Art Gallery at Lancaster University for over 20 years, developing the gallery's collection and staging highly-acclaimed fine art and craft exhibitions.

The Gallery was established in June 2003 and brings high quality work by internationally renowned and emerging artists to the region as well as exhibiting the work of local and regional artists.Exhibitions have included work by Picasso, Paula Rego, Frank Auerbach, Bridget Riley, Goya and Quentin Blake as well as work by artists living locally, among them, Ann Raby, Grazyna Whittle, Kyoko Takahashi and David Wright. In September 2012 Artsmill was awarded charitable status.

The gallery has offered a wide selection ofcrafts from some of the top British craftmakers throughout the years. The gallery is small but lovely it has served the town of Todmorden and its many visitors well over the years as a source of unique gifts and original art.

Studio Seven was established in 2009 by resident artist James (Bo) Davis as a place to paint and sell his own artwork. Since then the number of artists has grown substantially as has the gallery'sreputation for supplying unique yet affordable artworks ranging from sculpture and lino cuts to wall filling abstract landscapes.
